GenAI at the Peak of the Hype Cycle

AI Tech Circle

Hey Reader!

Generative AI has reached the top of Mount Everest; suddenly, the entire Artificial intelligence field has become only Generative AI (Large Language Models); every media outlet to policymakers has made so much noise that the excellent work of AI apart from Generative AI has started dimmed and this has brought pressure to organization leaders, they have to do something and bring it to the organization. It is the same pressure for everyone in the tech industry to understand Generative AI.

Common users are getting benefits from the Generative AI either in the form of using ChatGPT, Google Bard, or even every small to large software provider is infusing into the products.

For example, Canva, the graphic design/templates provider, has added the functionality to use AI to create content, banners, images, etc.

Regarding large software packages like ERP, Oracle has added built-in functionalities in the HCM application. A few areas to mention are in HR, such as writing job descriptions and writing individual goals.

Customer relationship applications like Salesforce have been added to their product function to enhance the experience; a few areas to mention are writing sales emails, call summarization, etc.

Such functions have started providing benefits to users on a massive scale.

However, the expectations are high that every business problem has a solution from the generative AI. Which is not correct.

On the other hand, the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting at Davos was also dominated by global AI leaders and influencers for AI governance, security, and so many other areas.

Returning to the adoption cycle of Generative AI, there is still a long way to go for adoption by large organizations. Slowly started taking

No doubt it’s at the height of the cycle. As per Gartner’s 2023 Hype Cycle for Artificial Intelligence (AI), it is on the top; refer to the below image:

Which will follow the path of moving to the next phase quickly.

Ultimately, if we talk about Generative AI from a text generation point of view, the following could be the target capabilities all organizations will achieve.
